Harrington | Mourvedre | Sumu KawVineyard | Sierra Nevada Foothills, CA | 2018
After a stint in NY as an artist, Bryan Harrington moved back to his hometown of San Francisco and started an urban winery where he was making amazing wine with a personal touch. Rising rents in the Bay Area have caused him to close his winemaking operation and this will be one of the last wines he will commercially make (for now)! Rumor has it, he's moving to Spain to start another wine label. This wine will never be made again!
🧑🤝🧑 Pair this with meats off the grill... pork chops, lamb, kebabs, grilled veggies.

🧓🏼 Don't be afraid to age this red wine! Older is better.
🤓 This Harrington red wine isn’t as big, bold, and spicy as a typical Mourvedre, although there's plenty of backbone here! Bryan Harrington showcases the more elegant and graceful side of this red wine which is rarely seen with the robust Mourvedre grape. The Mourvedre is sourced from the legendary Sumu Kaw vineyard known for growing high quality Rhone varieties. Sumu Kaw is perched on a ridge-top at 3000 ft above sea level in the middle of a pine forest with deep volcanic loam soils. The high altitude exposure allows the grapes to ripen slowly and retain charming acidity while the volcanic soil provides sensual aromatics.
