Perrini | Negroamaro | Puglia IGT, Italy | 2020

The Perrini family was farming native grape varieties and selling the fruit to local winemakers for multiple generations. The current generation, Vito and Mila, is seeing the entire process through from vine to bottle.
As the first generation to vinify their own estate fruit, the duo believes in organic farming and a light hand in the cellar, showcasing the family vineyard’s unique terroir with minimal intervention. The result is a surprisingly ethereal and fresh example of Negroamaro from a warm sunny region that typically produces big opulent wines.
Deep in the heel of Italy’s boot, the Salento Peninsula mixes a warm climate with hills of sand, limestone, and clay. This light-handed red is well balanced and a unique treat from the Puglia region.
