Subject to Change | "Chill Pill," Chenin Blanc | Redwood Valley, Mendocino, CA | 2022
Subject to Change Wine Co. has been exploring the terroir of Northern California since 2017. The team is commited to elevated agriculture as they draw inspiration from the land they steward.
Almost every wine is a single vineyard expression representing the energy and transparency of the people and places they come from.
Crafted for all tastes, these wines are raw expressions of responsibly-farmed vineyards—native-yeast-fermentations, no additives, no fining, no filtration, and no added sulfur.
Guided by consultant David Rothschild, STC annually advances toward our goals managing vineyards more naturally and cultivating healthy soils/ecosystems. The company is on a mission to rectify industry faults, providing a living wage, healthcare, and a respectful environment. Long-standing relationships with growers ensure a collective commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of all who tend the land.
This Deanda Vineyard Chenin Blanc dates back to the 60's and is organically farmed by Sarah Deanda in the Redwood Valley.
The climate of the upland Redwood Valley AVA experiences more of a diurnal temperature shift than surrounding appellations due to a gap in the coastal ridge which funnels cool Pacific air currents through to the Valley. This leads to a more gradual ripening of refined and complex fruit.
